Harrow School Tree Planting Initiative

2010

Thu 11th Mar Simon Berry has announced that the above work is scheduled for completion by 18th March 2010. The new plantings will be celebrated on Sunday 27th June and also to remember those in whose name the trees have been planted. A Thanksgiving Ceremony on the course has been planned at 12.30pm with a lunch to follow.

At the end of October 2009, two finals of the Rix- Hill finals were played at Valderrama, courtesy of Charles Donald. The 2003 final saw Andrew Aylwin take on John Orchard and Mark Hatcher play Neil Scaife in the 2008 final. The weather for the finals was glorious with temperatures in the low 80’s. The first match to be played was Aylwin vs Orchard.

2009

In early October, good weather greeted 21 Society members at Royal West Norfolk GC for the Autumn Meeting. Despite an early drop of rain at 8am on Thursday, members enjoyed good golf, good weather and good company this year. Some excellent scores were achieved, especially Jerome Wilcox (7) with a gross 73 on Thursday morning.

2009

Harrow survives to the second round and continues to build a team for the future. The OHGS was represented in the Grafton Morrish matchplay finals, held at Hunstanton and Royal West Norfolk Golf Clubs over the last weekend of September.
