OHGS Competitions between Members
Here is a summary of the OHGS competitions that have evolved for the enjoyment of members, as opposed to competitions with other schools which tend to be for the better players. There is no silver trophy, but the competition is the annual knock-out tournament played at members' clubs until the final which has typically been held at prestigious venues such as Valderrama and Loch Lomond. The winner receives a large water jug and the runner-up a small water jug suitably inscribed with the event and year. The Society subsidises the travel costs and green fees for the finalists using the entry fees, which are currently GBP 25 per person. Click here for guidance on the rules for the competition.
