At the end of October 2009, two finals of the Rix- Hill finals were played at Valderrama, courtesy of Charles Donald. The 2003 final saw Andrew Aylwin take on John Orchard and Mark Hatcher play Neil Scaife in the 2008 final. The weather for the finals was glorious with temperatures in the low 80’s. The first match to be played was Aylwin vs Orchard.
In early October, good weather greeted 21 Society members at Royal West Norfolk GC for the Autumn Meeting.
Despite an early drop of rain at 8am on Thursday, members enjoyed good golf, good weather and good company this year. Some excellent scores were achieved, especially Jerome Wilcox (7) with a gross 73 on Thursday morning.
Harrow survives to the second round and continues to build a team for the future.
The OHGS was represented in the Grafton Morrish matchplay finals, held at Hunstanton and Royal West Norfolk Golf Clubs over the last weekend of September.
Harrow win back Cup from Malvern after an interval of 11 years.
The Old Harrovian Golfing Society put out a formidable team on July 28th at Brancaster to win back the Harrow Malvern Cup. Malvern won the Cup in 1998, the last time it was played. Jeffrey Bonas was the captain and had selected a strong Sunningdale team including Steve Posford, Charles Donald and Andrew Aylwin.
