OHGS AGM Minutes 2016 The AGM took place at the Oxford & Cambridge Club, Pall Mall, by kind invitation of Jeffrey Bonas who retired as President of the Society after four years service during which the administration was modernised and procedures updated for the general benefit of the Society’s future wellbeing.

Ashley Brewer, and accomplished OH Halford Hewitt player, now captain of the Berks, Bucks and Oxon seniors team has triumphed at the national level. See full story

The OHGS fielded a very full team against the Brigade of Guards at Worplesdon on Saturday 10thOctober, and won the match by 4½ to 3½ in a nail-biting finish. This is our third victory in a row.

This year’s Autumn Meeting on 1st & 2nd October has been universally acclaimed as the best yet and the weather had a lot to do with it. The meeting began with an afternoon warmup at Worlington for those who wanted to play and then we had the traditional meal in the Jolly Sailors pub in Brancaster Staithe. We had to be at the golf club by 7:30am to avoid the tides and more or less had the course to ourselves as a result.

2015

Jeffrey Bonas hosted the Presidents Day at Brancaster on Monday 20th July which consisted of an excellent dinner the night before and an equally excellent lunch at the clubhouse. The golf was really just to build an appetite. When asked if we should encourage more players to attend he said “the lower the number the better the wine” and so a select few were able to enjoy the best of Jeffrey’s cellar.
