The OHGS fielded a very full team against the Brigade of Guards at Worplesdon on Saturday 10thOctober, and won the match by 4½ to 3½ in a nail-biting finish. This is our third victory in a row. Tom Putnam, handicap 24, who has loyally turned up every year for this fixture and lost every single match in which he has played and visited every part of the course (including the lake on the 10th on more than one occasion), managed to sink the putt which secured our victory.
In the match against the Norfolk Old Etonians on Sunday 11th October our winning streak was broken with a very narrow defeat in the last match where we failed to get down in 2 from about 8 feet. We won’t mention any names!
