A sunny day with a stiff wind to test concentration saw 8 of us participate in this first fixture of the year. 2 newcomers to the fray and to the course itself – Luke Rafferty and Nick Hewens – enjoyed the facilities of the club as everyone did, the latter ‘playing a blinder’ as he put it, to score a spectacular 39 points to win comfortably off 10 from Jerome Wilcox, Graham Wick (a last minute fill in and John Lyons School old boy), and local member Peter Greenwood who assisted me greatly in organising as always. None of our 4, including David Norris, Mike Hall, and Luke, were quite as competitive !
